Evo-Stik Southern League club Bridgwater Town are on the lookout for a new striker.

Bridgwater need to replace Dave Pearse who left to join Division One South and West rivals Tiverton Town.

“Obviously we didn’t want to lose Dave but he wanted to join Tiverton,” said Bridgwater’s joint manager Kevin Milsom. “There’s no point in trying to keep a player who wants to leave.

“We haven’t anyone in mind to replace him at the moment. But he would have to be better than what we already have.

“We’re operating with a squad of 16 players at the moment and that includes two goalkeepers.”

Bridgwater were due to play Merthyr Town last night but the game was postponed because the Welsh club were involved in an FA Trophy replay against Shortwood.
