Adie Britton says today’s FA Cup clash with Gosport Borough at Mayday Trust Park will be pivotal to his hopes of strengthening Bath City’s squad.
City’s limited resources have been exposed in recent weeks and they have picked up just one point from their last 15 in the Blue Square Bet South.
Victory would net City £7,500 in prize money and a place alongside non-league football’s big-hitters in the draw for the final qualifying round.
“It’s a crucial game for the club,” said Britton. “As always in the FA Cup, we need to win because it brings money in.
“If you go through two rounds of the FA Cup and two rounds of the FA Trophy in a season, you always give the club a financial boost and have done all you can from a football perspective.
“I would very, very much hope for us to be in the fourth qualifying round.”
