Staff and guests at one of Bristol's leading four-star hotels helped raise cash for military charity Help for Heroes at a ball organised by a member of staff.
The event took place at DoubleTree by Hilton, Bristol City Centre with the money raised totalling £1832.11. The money has now been presented to the charity which provides practical and direct support to wounded service personnel.
The ball was arranged by hotel employee Margaret Williams who alongside a close relative Nicholas Fox sold places and football raffle cards to raise the cash.
Margaret said: "I'd like to thank all our guests and customers for coming along to the event and making it such a success. Every contribution is worth it no matter how small because when added together it can make a big amount.
"By organising an event like this to help those who have sacrificed so much makes it all worthwhile.
"When you see what some of our brave service personnel have to now endure on a day-to-day basis puts the lives of the vast majority into perspective and makes this fund raising effort a little more poignant."
John Dowling, General Manager at the hotel added: "This is a fantastic amount and a lot of credit should go to Margaret and Nicolas for organising the event. We were delighted to host the evening and look forward to many more successful charity events here at the hotel."
