Peasedown St John Community Association

held its third Baby and Maternity Nearly New Sale on Saturday at Beacon Hall in

the village.  The sale saw hoards of

locals seek out the great bargains that were on offer from parents clearing out

unwanted, but good condition nearly new baby and toddler clothes, toys and

equipment.  Refreshments were also on

offer, with delicious cakes from 'My Little Cupcake' as well smoothies made by

local Parish Councillors Neil and Sam Hopkins.

The sale had added interest for parents

and prospective parents with the presence of Laurel Farm Kindergarten stall who

were kept busy painting children faces in any number of different guises.  Peasedown Primary School were also selling

second hand school uniform for the older children.

The volunteers of the Community

Association are organising a number of different events at Beacon Hall this

year with the aim of raising money to support new facilities for the hall

whilst giving locals events they enjoy.

They include a plant and cake sale (12th May), a fashion show

(15th May) where you can buy high-street clothes at bargain prices,

and movies showings of Jane Eyre (5th May) and Brassed Off (20th

May) as part of Bath Film Festival Community Cinema.  Further details are available on the Beacon

Hall website (www.beaconhall.org.uk).  The next Baby & Maternity Sale will be

held on 13th October.  If your

house is bursting at the seams why not book a table now? They are £12 and can

be booked by e-mailing beaconhall.events@btinternet.com.
