His music certainly divides opinions among humans, but apparently chickens can't get enough of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
A farmer is reported to have claimed his chickens lay more eggs when he plays them music from Lloyd Webber's popular shows. Steve Ledsham, 64, told the Daily Mail production went through the henhouse roof when he played Lloyd Webber tunes within earshot of his 24 hens at his farm in Wirral, Merseyside.
He said production per bird doubled from four to eight eggs per week. Mr Ledsham said: "We were building a barn at the time so we always had music playing in the background. While building it we noticed the hens were laying more eggs and we put two and two together and realised it was because of the music."
Mr Ledsham says his hens were discerning and reject the "modern chart rubbish" of One Direction and Miley Cyrus.
